
Barre Pilates Method
Barre Pilates method is a fusion of ballet and Pilates that focuses mainly on toning and sculpting the lower body. Using a barre (or chair) for balance and using the Pilates fundamentals of alignment and balance you really get a sense of challenging your body whilst getting a low impact workout.
You don’t need any dance experience - all you need is a chair. Small hand weights and bands can be purchased from the store or online, however tins of beans etc from your cupboard are more than suitable to use too!
I had the privilege of being trained by Claire Wray - the founder of the Barre Pilates Method so if you are looking for a way to integrate your Pilates practice with some focused body sculpting then this is a fabulous challenge for you to try.
