
FOUNDATIONS
It all begins with a solid foundation - whether you are building a house or building a healthy body and mind - you have to do the ground work to get the best results. Significant lifestyle changes over the last 30 years have meant that postural problems are more prevalent now and undertaking any exercise programme from a basis of poor posture can exacerbate problems with alignment and cause injury.
Here you can learn (or re-learn) the basics of good alignment, breathing and engagement so that you can take part in my classes with the knowledge of your body that you will need to get the most out of your practice. Sometimes, during my classes I may refer to certain terminology and by watching and practicing these videos you will know exactly what I am talking about!
Even if you are very experienced with Pilates, it is helpful to go through these videos and remind yourself of how to set up properly - it is common to pick up bad habits when you bypass the layers and go straight for the advanced stuff!
